The time has almost come! I will return to Purdue on Monday and that is THE day. The day we take off for Romania. Spent this past week at home packing and preparing for the trip. Packing sufficiently and practically is a little bit difficult for this three week adventure. I'm almost positive I will forget something. We will figure out what that is when we get there I suppose.
I can hardly contain my excitement/nervousness for this trip. The opportunity is pretty incredible and yet another way I can get my foot in the door to international agriculture. This is something I am finding I am pretty interested in. It's worth looking into, I think. I don't know what that sort of thing would look like in my life right now anyway.
Super excited, also, about using my new Nikon D3000 DSLR camera in Romania. People keep telling me to take lots of pictures. I know, I know! I have two 4G memory cards to fill up, but that will only be like 6000 pictures, people! ;-)

I am preparing for an Animal Sciences Service Learning trip to Romania this May. Like my Haiti page, I want to document my experience with words and pictures all in one spot to share with people.
The trip is from May 16th to June 9th. I think there is a 7 hour difference (and about 5000 miles!) between here and Timisoara??
There are 18 Purdue students plus faculty going. We have been preparing through weekly meetings and learning as much as we can about the history and culture before we get there. Currently, we are talking more about the projects we will be undertaking while in Romania. Partnerships on this trip include Reach2Romania, Purdue Animal Sciences and Heifer International.
This trip obviously has more of an agriculture focus than Haiti did. I am very excited to put my Animal Sciences degree into action and help these people agriculturally, not to mention share life with them and love them.
Getting excited!
